How to check if your Airtel SIM card number is fully registered

Airtel has been emphasizing that all its users should verify their SIM card details to avoid disconnection. The exercise started in 2023 and many people have seen their Airtel SIM cards disconnected because they are unverified. So, if you are not sure whether your Airtel line is verified of fully registered, we will show you how to check that using your phone. It’s completely DIY (Do it yourself).

How to check if my Airtel SIM card is registered in Uganda

To check your Airtel SIM registration status, you will need to go to your phone and dial *197*1# and press okay. If your number is full registered and validated, you will receive a message confirming that. Otherwise, you will be requested to re-verify and register your Airtel SIM card number.

How to verify and register my Airtel SIM card?

Often times Airtel has been sending a message to all the unverified SIM cards prompting them to verify. If you are among these Airtel users in Uganda, follow the steps below to verify and register your line:

  • Go to your phone and dial *197#
  • Select option two to submit your National ID Number (NIN), surname, and given name.
  • Once you have submitted those details, your Airtel number will be validated and activated.

How to know the phone numbers registered with my ID NIN in Uganda?

If you want to see all the Airtel numbers that are registered and verified under your NIN, simply dial *197*2# and press okay. You will be prompted to enter your NIN/Passport number. After confirming that step, you will then see the numbers registered using your National ID or Passport.

How much is an Airtel SIM card in Uganda?

In case you want to replace or buy a new Airtel SIM card, go to any service center near you only UGX 2,000 for an activated Airtel line. We recommend that you always go with a national ID, passport, or refuge card to get a new line. In case you want to replace a lost SIM card, kindly go with a police letter and your national ID.
